Here's why there is an Irish Music page on a needleworker's website
Along with quilting and embroidery I also like to play Irish music.  I play the Irish drum called a bodhran (dh is silent) and have two regular gigs with friends.

One will start again this fall in Bloomington, IL on Monday nights at an Italian Restaurant - The Lucca Grill.  Yes I know sounds a bit strange -- Irish music/pizza parlor -- however they do serve Guinness which explains a lot.  We Start about 7:30, so if you're in the Bloomington area, stop by, have a pizza and enjoy some music.

I also belong to the Murphy Roche Irish Music Club and if you go to their web site you can see an appliequed/embroidered banner I made for the club.

We are homeless no more!  You can come out and join us for the summer on Sunday's in Bolingbrook, IL at the Auld Dubliner Irish Pub which is located in the Promanade Center just west of 355 & Boughton Rd. right across the street from the Barnes & Noble.  We begin playing at 2:00 and play until about 4:00.

This is a great group of people and we also have two CD's of traditional Irish Music.

We perform as a group and sometimes in small groups in the Chicago and Pontiac area at various events.

Fox Valley Folk Festival - gig on Sunday and Monday September 2-3 and all day sessions on the grounds - come out and join us.

Murphy Roche combines love of Irish music with learning Irish music.  Please check the website for opportunities to do both.

We have two CD's of great Irish session music available.  I do some singing with three other women in the group on the second one.  You can order them from Murphy Roche or from me!
The cost is $12.00 which includes shipping -- send a check or money order to me and I'll ship you out a cd.

One is our first CD
Twos & Threes is our second

Here is a picture of what I taught in class at the Comhaltas Irish Music fest a few years ago.  Even though the students hadn't done silk ribbon they were able to make lovely pieces.  This  is a class that beginners can feel free to take as I will teach the stitches as we go.
