This means that I am listed in the Artist in Residency booklet with a description of my work and what I do.
I participate in Arts Council events each year and will list them as they come up.
I like working with children of all ages to help them see history as people lived it in every day. I find that
kids can identify with daily life in early America and enjoy hearing stories of how children their age participated in the
work and activities that helped create America.

I demonstrate embroidery, traditional quiltmaking, processing flax straw to get it ready for spinning into linen.
Children can learn to do embroidery and make a small sewing kit or "housewife" of their own. I also can teach kids some
Scots Gaelic words and a song to sing together. I have extended classes for kids that include simple applique and other
types of embroidered work.
Processing flax is something I saw in Pennsylvania as a child myself. As I began to come across the tools in antique
shops I decided I wanted to learn how to do this work. Now it is the most popular choice for school programs.
